 Site info

Welcome to the MECCANO Micro Models website!!

Motivation for the site:
Building with Meccano, photography and making fun stuff with the computer are a few hobbies of mine. When I wanted to combine these hobbies I asked myself:"What can I do that has not been done yet?" In my opinion there are enough sites that say:"Look at what I have built." These sites generally show medium, large and superlarge models. Rarely anything small. There's nothing wrong with that. I enjoy these sites too. But here I found a gap I could fill. Thus I decided to go big with small models.

What is a Meccano Micro Model:
A Meccano Micro Model is built of no more than a handfull of original Meccano parts. The whole range of Meccano parts may be used. This includes repro parts, but only parts that have originally been produced by Meccano. No Exacto, Marklin or self invented parts. No modified parts. Parts may be bent in such a way that they could easily be restored to their original condition. They may be curved, not folded.

Adding your model to the site:
Just email me at alexdejong_@hotmail.com with a description of your model and telling me that I may use it for MMM. Add a picture. Please make sure that the picture is not larger than 100k, or else my mailbox may explode. Then I will build the model. Take photographs etc. I may modify it before publishing it, depending on available parts, etc.

This site is non-commercial.

About copying the info on this site:
Anyone may copy the info on this site for personal use. This includes making local copies of the site, printing, handing out copies for free. Do not make a copy on your own site. Please refer to my site. Please do not make a copy to sell it for profit.

Tip for printing pages of this site:
Special care has been taken that when you print pages of this site, that they will appear on paper exactly as they appear on screen. But I have found that to accomplish this you need to go to your browser´s printing settings and set all margins to 0. ( I use Internet Explorer and A4 paper )

Linking to models:
Please do not directly link to an individual model. I will not guarantee that a modeldescription will stay at it's current address. Instead link to the main page and refer to the model by name and number. E.g.: try this model 001. Locomotive at http://meccanomicromodels.demonster.net
The main page should stay at it's current address.

If you have a MMM, a question, or just want to comment on this site, you can always email me at: alexdejong_@hotmail.com
